About Amy
"He knew everything about literature except how to enjoy it" (Joseph Heller). It is my ardent belief that literature is there to be enjoyed, not just understood. My goal it too take my students through techniques of literary analysis and establish competency for examinations and discussion, but also to show how it can enrich our lives, our understanding about the human condition and society, and bring joy to our lives by stoking the fires of imagination and possibility. My love affair with the written word began in secondary school, flourished in my graduate studies, and proved it's value in my life outside of academia. It is my desire to encourage students to reach their full potential academically, as I have done but moreover to impart in them the greatest takeaway - that literature is a lens with which we can view the world from many different angles. Every encounter with the written word is a learning experience, from which we grow and are changed forever.

I am a competent and enthusiastic tutor, with an English Literature BA (First Class Honours) and Modern Literary Studies MA (with Distinction). I offer 1 hour private tuition online for GSCE and A Level coursework and exams, teaching literary analysis techniques and essay writing skills. Above all, I wish to instil a passion for the literary arts in students of all ages and abilities.
