About Julia
I grew up in Manhattan, New York as the oldest of 4 siblings and 2 dogs. I love to read, write, listen to (and occasionally create) music. I'm on the varsity ice hockey team at Amherst College and have been playing since I was 9 years old. I grew up playing all kinds of sports and love to watch/play/talk sports. I'm a huge dog and overall animal lover. I enjoy working with people, being on teams, and learning about new things!

Being the oldest of 4, I have experience finding creative and new ways to teach subjects to kids of various ages. Learning can be difficult and frustrating, but once you figure out how to learn and what strategies work best for you, it becomes fun! Part of the game is exactly that, and I myself have tried various approaches to figure out what helps me. My lessons will not only work on course/subject content, they will identify weaknesses, struggles, and challenges and help develop strategies that work and last.
