About Dana

Passionate about teaching, I am currently in my final year of a Master MEEF (Professions in Teaching, Education and Training), so I am specifically trained to teach and support students in their learning through skills of theoretical and practical teaching. Indeed, I had the opportunity to teach for 4 years, and this, at different levels.

In addition, I taught in Italy in a French-speaking Italian primary school for two months. This experience allowed me to understand the different needs of students and adapt to a different teaching environment. I also trained in Canada, a country known for its caring approach to education, its consideration of students' individual needs and its alternative pedagogy. This training opened my eyes to new teaching methods and allowed me to gain an international perspective on education.

Now, I currently teach French to English-speaking students, in a university in Canada, near Vancouver. This allows me to continue to develop my teaching skills. I also provide tutoring in Canada and have in the past given private lessons and provided homework help in France in order to help my students to progress and to achieve their goals.

About the lesson

Define measurable, concrete learning objectives so that students can observe their progress and stay motivated.

Choose an educational approach adapted to the student: theoretical transmission, practical application, collaboration and discussion, flipped classroom system with part of independent learning (outside the class) and part guided by the teacher. Everything is possible, I adapt to the student and their needs.

Change media: texts, videos, images, infographics, quizzes, case studies, simulations, etc. to make the content varied and engaging.

Give Feedbacks: Exercises and assessments to measure understanding and reinforce learning. This regular monitoring is also done by providing feedback to students on their progress in a KIND manner, by answering their questions, evaluating their work and inviting them to think critically.

Adaptation continues: Flexibility is the key word. I therefore adapt to the evolution of my students, and to their comments to provide them with additional resources as needed or to change the teaching methods.
