About Deborah

Hi there! I'm Deborah. I've recently finished school and have decided to take a gap year so I can rest, work, and prepare for university, where I'll continue to study Psychology. The ultimate goal I'm working towards, is becoming a clinical Psychologist who continually works to improve the lives of her patients, and who constantly researches new and innovative treatments.

Psychology has been my favourite subject for a few years now, and to support my GCSE and A-levels, I've read extensively around the subject- I've read books such as 'The Anxiety Cure' by Dr Klaus Bernhardt, and 'The Body Keeps the Score' by Dr Bessel Van Der Kolk. During my gap year I intend to continue reading further into it and also do some work experience in hospital settings.

At GCSE I studied with OCR, and at A-level with AQA- the topics were quite similar despite the different exam boards. I know the subject well and can look over the topics for the exam board my students are with. Being fresh out of school also serves as an advantage as I have recent exam experience and knowledge of the subject.

My aim is for my students to enjoy my lessons and to inspire a passion within them, so that they are able to get the grades they want without it feeling like a chore, whilst also opening them up to a new understanding of the world.
Understanding why people behave the way they do is a valuable skill to have; it helps the individual understand themselves and society better. I look forward to teaching you! I'm sure we'll have lots of fun!
