About Jakoby
As a Film and English student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, I have accumulated many years of experience in the realms of professional, academic, and creative writing as a student and teaching assistant.
I spent a year in Japan working directly as a teaching assistant for two English professors at the Nagasaki University of Foreign Studies. I directly tutored seven Japanese and Chinese students, with two students participating as my "learners" in a "Teaching Foreign Languages" project. With invaluable experience from that time, I have shifted focus into becoming an English professor overseas.
I am lucky to have so many incredible experiences and would love to help anyone who wants assistance in English!
Japanese Students:
I am currently working on my N3 Japanese-Language Proficiency Test. I possess conversational Japanese and strong reading/writing skills. I have tutored multiple Japanese students with varying levels of English.
Notable works:
I am a published poet with two poem collections, and possess an astute knowledge of academic and creative writing experience.
I have experience as a creative consultant on manga, scripts, novels, essays, and more.
I am also certified script supervisor with experience making films, working on documentaries, and voicing commercials.

A comprehensive lesson plan for all levels of English which uses all major aspects: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. With each lesson, a review will be provided to ensure comprehension with clear and concise feedback.
Lessons can vary depending on need, but a focus on complete comprehension of all ranges of English is the top priority!
My lessons have direct focuses on critical thinking, analyzation, comfortability, conversations, vocabulary, with fun and involved activities!
These lessons are meant to be directly influenced by the student's level, needs, weaknesses, and desires, and can be altered by necessity.
From experience, communication is key! With me as your tutor, we can map out a lesson plan that's comfortable, affordable, and manageable for your needs!

This first lesson offered with Jakoby will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details
The first 45 minutes will be free! Let's get to know each other so we can discuss what you need as a student and what I can provide as a tutor.
With $20 an hour I am to mainly assist students in their "short-term" English goals but am open to "long-term" lesson plannings depending on need.
No additional costs or materials should be needed, and anything that would be provided in the lesson will be free and accessible to both student and I.
$2 is added as a fee just in case there are any technical difficulties with the online service on either side.
*A $10 discount is provided for 5 hours to encourage a full "five day" lesson plan which aims to offer enough time to have four full lessons, and an hour of review and feedback.
**A $20 discount is provided for 10 hours to encourage a full "two week" lesson plan that will aim to provide distinct comprehension and complete comfortability. This will have two one-week lesson plans (four hours of lessons, and one hour of review X2).
Each of these lesson plans can be altered based on the student's needs.
