About Mary

Hey guys, my name is Mary and I live in Cape Town, South Africa. At some point in my life, I thought I would never become a teacher; to me, it was the worst job in the world until I worked as a youth coach at a high school. My time as a youth coach helped me see and understand the need for teachers. That’s where my passion began. While in high school, my favorite subject was English, especially the literature part. That’s why I decided to become an English tutor while studying towards my teaching degree.

About the lesson

Literature is a nuanced and multifaceted component of the English language, often presenting challenges for students to comprehend and analyze. The literature section, encompassing both poetry and drama, is frequently where students encounter difficulties and lose marks in English exams. Crafting a well-structured literature essay can be a daunting task, requiring a deep understanding of literary devices, themes, and critical analysis. If you're a high school student struggling with English, I'm here to help. With my extensive experience in tutoring, I can provide personalized guidance and support to help you achieve your desired grades.
