Superprof About Me
I specialize in critical thinking and essay writing for university students and undergraduates.
At university, I often received feedback telling me to be “more critical”, but was given little guidance on what that actually meant. I had to learn it the hard way.
Now I help students who are struggling with the same thing. We work step by step to understand critical writing, develop stronger arguments, and write clearer essays.
My aim is to make academic writing clear, manageable, and less overwhelming.

Teaching approach
My teaching approach is tailored to university students and their individual academic goals. I focus on helping students develop clear, structured, and well-supported academic writing, while strengthening the critical thinking skills needed to succeed at university.
My lessons can cover the full writing process, including understanding essay questions, developing a strong thesis statement, structuring arguments, analysing sources, integrating evidence, improving academic language, and editing and refining written work.
For thesis and dissertation support, I help students develop their ideas, strengthen their arguments, improve structure and coherence, and approach academic writing with greater confidence and independence.
Typical lesson length
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, although this can be adapted depending on the student's needs, academic level, assignment requirements, and deadlines.
Qualifications & experience
I have experience supporting university and undergraduate students with English, academic writing, essay writing, critical thinking, and research-based writing.
I work with students across different disciplines and can provide guidance on essays, research papers, theses, dissertations, literature reviews, and other university-level writing tasks. My focus is not simply on correcting language, but on helping students understand how to communicate ideas clearly, construct convincing arguments, evaluate evidence, and write in an appropriately academic style.
