About Jemima

I’ve always enjoyed English and helping others feel more confident with reading, writing and exam skills. I know how stressful GCSEs and exams can feel, so I focus on making things clear, simple, and manageable rather than overwhelming.

Alongside English, I also studied Geography at degree level, so I’m happy to help with understanding content, case studies, and improving exam technique for GCSE students.

I like to keep lessons relaxed but focused, and I adapt my teaching style depending on what each student needs — whether that’s building confidence, improving grades, or learning how to structure stronger answers under time pressure.

My aim is to help students feel more in control of their work and to actually understand what they’re learning, not just memorise it. This means focusing on breaking things down simply and building confidence step by step.

About the lesson

I specialise in helping students feel more confident and improve their exam technique in a clear, structured, and encouraging way.

What I offer:

* GCSE English Language (reading, writing, exam technique)
* GCSE English Literature (essay structure, analysis, quotes, timing)
* KS3 English support and confidence building
* GCSE Geography (content, case studies, exam answers)
* Study skills and revision strategy

My approach:

I focus on helping students understand exactly what examiners are looking for, not just memorising content. I break things down simply, work on essay structure, and help students feel more confident under timed conditions.

Sessions are tailored to each student’s goals — whether that’s moving from a grade 5 to a 7+, or refining top-grade answers.

About me:

I have a Geography degree and a strong academic background in English. I enjoy making lessons relaxed but focused, and I’m patient and approachable — especially for students who feel stuck or unconfident.
