About Amanda
I have 10+ years experience working in head offices of large name retailers on Operations teams, writing technical documentation (such as manuals, training guides, standard operating procedures, policies, etc.) as well as leading communication internally to teams and externally to supply chain partners. I understand the importance of clear concise language in communication and I am an experience-trained editor and technical writer. My academic background is a Bachelors of Science.

I like to allow the student to explain examples of types of communication and/or writing they need to do in their work, where they might not feel fully confident. From here we can curate a set of lesson plans and create some templates for responses and sentence structure. I frequently edit my student's business emails and support them in correcting basic grammar and any areas where wording might not be clear. Simplicity and keeping things short and to-the-point is key. I have most experience with business professionals who are ESL.

Details
No in-person training due to the global pandemic, but I will do webcam tutoring. If you prefer audio only this is totally fine, just let me know. The first free lesson will be generic content and a bit of outlining the basics, but specific content and advice would be addressed in subsequent sessions. In the first free session I also like to get an understanding of the specific support needed by the student, and any expectations they may have for me and the lesson provided. I like to curate the lesson plan for the specific person's needs.
