About Ellayah
I achieved top grades for English at GCSE and studied it at AS Level. I have just over 1 years experience tutoring GSCE English to secondary children, on a one to one or two to one basis, both in an academic setting and in student's houses. I’m currently studying Psychology at university and I have a creative soul, studied the arts for a while and am a bit of a foodie!

Need help with your English GCSE? Or falling behind in class? Maybe low confidence in the subject is stopping your full potential? Let's talk.
A typical lesson would be between and 1-2 hours long, usually starting with a light hearted warm-up task to get those juices flowing. An emphasis on your exam board's syllabus will be taken and I like to involve the student in the planning process as much as possible. The rest is really down to what suits the needs of the individual.
My teaching method is to suit the learner, maintaining a thorough understanding of the topics at hand. Working out what suits the student, whether that be visual learning, practical learning or observant.
An emphasis on SPAG will be made during lessons, as well as a general expansion for vocabulary and idea generation. A sophisticated but fun approach will be taken and where possible, I will try and teach beyond the syllabus - focusing on key strengths of the individual. A slow and digestible approach will be given to the areas where the individual requires improvement.
I hope to build confidence and understanding for the subject, whilst remaining open minded and adaptable.
