About Tasnim

Hi, I’m Tasnim! I’m a lifelong learner with a passion for helping others succeed. Growing up as a daughter of immigrants, I’ve had the opportunity to connect with a diverse community, helping classmates and neighbors—many of whom are English learners—strengthen their reading, writing, and communication skills. These experiences have taught me patience, adaptability, and the importance of tailoring learning to each person’s needs. I love breaking down complex ideas into simple, practical steps, and I enjoy helping students build confidence in expressing themselves. I take pride in being reliable, approachable, and supportive, creating a learning space where students feel encouraged to ask questions, explore their ideas, and succeed. Outside of tutoring, I’m passionate about community work, learning about technology, and finding creative ways to solve problems; values I bring into every lesson.

About the lesson

My Teaching Method and Techniques

I believe English should feel practical, approachable, and empowering. My method focuses on breaking complex concepts like grammar rules or essay structure into simple steps. I use real world examples and interactive exercises to keep lessons engaging, while encouraging students to ask questions and share their thoughts. My goal is always to build confidence, not just skills.

A Typical Lesson Plan

Each lesson begins with a quick check-in to see what the student is struggling with or needs to focus on. We’ll then work through short, focused exercises (like analyzing a reading passage or improving a paragraph) and apply what we learn to bigger goals, such as essay writing or preparing for class discussions. I always end with a recap and a small practice task to reinforce learning.

What Sets Me Apart

Unlike many tutors, I help students connect English to their own voice and everyday life instead of stopping at rules. My experience teaching English and digital literacy in my community has taught me how to adapt to different learning styles, from younger students to adults. I’m patient, approachable, and skilled at making intimidating topics feel manageable.
