About Victoria
I have been a teacher for eight years and a tutor for five years. I am certified to teach English grades 7-12 and Literacy grades 5-12. I've earned a Bachelor's degree and Master's degree, as well as continuing my education by taking many professional development courses. I've focused on teaching the craft of writing, student mental health concerns, creating a diverse curriculum for my students, and many other topics throughout my courses.
One important thing to know about me is that I truly let my personality shine through my teaching - I am positive, bubbly, and confident, and I aspire to have my students feeling the same way when they leave sessions.

My approach to teaching is a gradual release of responsibility. I love to model for my students where I DO something for them. Then I ask my students to help me create the next example and WE DO it together. Only then I have my students do an example on their own - the YOU DO part. This allows students to feel comfortable in their craft and feel confident in their answers.
I received a Bachelor's degree in English Education and am certified to teach English grades 7-12. I then received a Master's degree in Literacy and am certified to teach Literacy grades 5-12.
As a teacher and a tutor, I make sure my students feel comfortable and confident when leaving our sessions. Especially in our society's growing literacy crisis, I want students to feel like they can be expert readers and writers.
