About Angel

Hi! My name is Angel. My goal is to help you become fluent in English, become a confident speaker and reader. I like reading and watching musicals. I like to have discussions about books and characters. I enjoy learning new things and meeting different people.

About the lesson

My Teaching Methodology and Techniques
My teaching style adapts to each student. I take the time to get to know my students to understand how they think and where they need support. Understanding a student’s learning style is key to helping them grasp difficult topics.

I incorporate a variety of tools like pictures, online quizzes, and YouTube videos to make lessons more engaging and easier to understand. If a student is a visual learner, I use diagrams and demonstrations. If they learn best through doing, I incorporate hands-on activities. Throughout the lesson, I ask questions to gauge their understanding and adjust my approach as needed.

A Typical Lesson Plan
My lessons are usually up to an hour long, depending on what we are learning, and follow this structure:

Recap – We quickly review what we covered last time.

Lesson – I introduce new material in a way that matches the student’s learning style.

Practice – We work through examples together, and I encourage students to try problems on their own.

For exam prep, I ask the student what helps them most and adjust from there. I focus heavily on practice because repetition builds confidence and memory. If they don’t finish practice work during our session, it becomes homework.

What Sets Me Apart
I’m both empathetic and firm—I understand when a student is struggling, but I also hold them accountable to do their best. I’ve helped my younger brother, who has dyslexia, improve from struggling to scoring consistently between 70–80%. I know how important it is to be patient, creative, and encouraging.

Who My Lessons Are For
I can tutor students from the elementary level up to Grade 9. I have experience working with learners who have specific needs, including dyslexia. My lessons are especially helpful for students who need a more personalized, patient, and flexible approach to learning.
