About Amy
I am a proactive, organised and empathetic teacher with experience working with young people for over 5 years across educational and extra-curricular settings including as a theatre facilitator. I love to help young people build confidence in their ability and work collaboratively with them to achieve their goals. Taking a patient yet dynamic approach to learning I enjoy getting to know my students and their interests in order to develop a strong working relationship.

I am confident tailoring lesson style to the student in order to meet their needs. I will speak to the student about their learning style and adapt my delivery to suit them. Often I will include a practice paragraph/GCSE question in order to prepare for exams. Lessons are typically 50 minutes - an hour. I have a first in my English literature and Creative writing degree and a year and a half experience tutoring within a school setting. Within these lessons I either adapted content from the main class teacher or planned and delivered my own lessons to catch students up who had missed content or helped them to revise for their English Literature and Language GCSE (Edexcel specialised)
