About Katia
I have a PhD in Cultural, Literary and Postcolonial Studies (SOAS) and MA in English and Comparative Literature (Leiden). I am a Senior Examiner for the International Baccalaureate and teach / tutor privately as well as in a Sixth Form College.

I work with the pupil and gradually stretch their abilities and help develop their potential. This happens organically as all my classes are interactive. In the first sessions, I give the student trial snippets of work of various aspects of English. This gives me an initial overview of what the students strengths and weaknesses are. Subsequently, I am able to cater for that student's needs and we commence work. Typically, the student begins to see improvement after five to seven sessions. From there on is a case of pushing further and developing the student's abilities and skills.

Individual
£40 for students in KS3-4
£50 for A-Level and IB students
£70 for Undergraduates
Group rates:
£25 per student per hour. Max 4 students.
I have a 24-hour cancellation policy, whereby the student is charged full price if cancels within that period. Half-tuition is chargeable if notice within 36 hours. Tuition continues during holidays and is fully chargeable if one-month's notice has not been given.
