About Mary

What makes the difference between studying English and actually improving it? Often, it's knowing exactly what to work on and how to work on it.

I hold a Master's degree in TESOL from Teachers College, Columbia University, and have over 30 years of experience teaching English at universities in the United States and Greece.
I've taught students from different linguistic, academic, and professional backgrounds, from those working to improve their everyday English to those preparing for university studies, international exams, or professional opportunities.

My approach is straightforward. We identify where you're having difficulty, and what will help you improve. Lessons combine focused instruction, practical activities, and detailed feedback.

Whether you're working on fluency, writing, or exam preparation, you'll spend less time on exercises you don't need and more time developing the skills you do.

About the lesson

Lessons are built around your goals.

We work with real conversations, relevant texts, writing tasks, and focused language practice, depending on your needs. You'll have opportunities to use English actively, improve your accuracy, fluency, and ability to express ideas clearly.

You'll leave each lesson knowing what you've improved, what still needs work, and how to move forward.

Mary is honestly one of the best teachers I’ve had. She makes lessons feel relaxed and easy to follow, and she explains everything in a way that actually makes sense. I became much more confident speaking English with her, and the classes never feel boring or stressful. Highly recommend her!
