About Amelia
I found that on my academic journey to where I am now, some subjects and concepts just take an extra bit of time or perhaps a difference approach to get the hang of. I understand that new content and exams can be daunting and seemingly impossible at times, but I would love to help with understanding and confidence in those subjects, ultimately having a very positive impact on grades.

I hope to provide a supportive and enjoyable tuition space for my students, tailoring lesson plans to work to their strengths and interests as well as to target areas which worry them. I usually begin with a short starter task to get brain juices flowing. Following this my lessons tend to focus on a specific area each week, dedicating time to fully grasp topics in a capacity quite different to being in class. Then, I always end my lessons with an overview of this week and a plan for the next, allowing students to have a say! I am a strong believer in show don't tell learning and self-guided study, and believe that discussing with my students what they wish to work on increases confidence and creates empowered learners. I always have an open ear to suggestions and individual interest, and encourage both parents and students to reach out to me throughout the week with any queries they have or specific desires for what is studied next. After all, I consider myself a 'study buddy' to those I tutor and wish for lessons to be as fun and useful as possible.
