About Elizabeth

I have been teaching English language and music for over 20 years, and love both equally. I am a fully qualified and experienced class teacher and private tutor.

As a Celta and DELTA qualified English teacher, I have experience of teaching all Cambridge Qualification (IELTS, FCE, KET and PET), and I am a registered teacher and assessor for City and Guilds ESOL qualifications. I have experience of teaching a very wide range of nationalities, age groups and levels for exam classes, business English and general English.

Musically, I am a graduate of the University of Durham and completed my PGCE at Goldsmiths, University of London. I have post-graduate qulifications (MMus, MOpera) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (formerly the RSAMD).

As well as having worked as a primary and secondary school music teacher, I have also sung professionally with various Opera Companies within the UK. I very much enjoy teaching piano, singing and music theory, as well as general classroom music. I enjoy teaching music theory and have successfully prepared many students to take Grade 5 ABRSM Music Theory. I also have many singing students who I have successfully taken from Grades 1-8 Singing ABRSM.

Finally, I am generally a cheery and enthusiastic person, and I love working with the students I have.

She has a very good eye for detail, and designs ILPs for each learner meticulously. I have observed her in the classroom and she is very well-organised managing the sessions well.
