About Saurav

I am an Electronics engineer, armed with an MBA from tier-1 college. I have over 13 years of industry experience and am currently working as a Senior Business Manager for the UK government. I live in London and have been into teaching since my Under-Grad days. Teaching is my passion and English is my obsession. I have been recognised and felicitated for being in Top 1% in English literature in my country (CBSE Certificate of Excellence in SSE). I also hold a diploma in French and this has helped me understand the rigours of picking up a new language. I hold an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate.

About the lesson

I facilitate learning through active engagement such as Speaking exercises/ quick presentations, Listening tasks, Reading comprehension, Writing tasks, etc offering frameworks, rules, and feedback at every stage. During these activities, I will work with you on the following: a>Grammar (Tenses, parts of Speech, Modals, SV agreement) b>Pronunciation (Accent-neutrality) c>Lexicon/Diction/Vocabulary d>Fluency, Enunciation, Intonation e>Organisation and Coherence e> Synonyms, Connotations, Spellings, etc We will start with an initial assessment and then do a series of Mock and Practice papers (IELTS, ESOL, Functional skills) to gauge progress periodically. I'll share strategies and tactics to get a perfect score and also pinpoint error-prone areas. My classes are customised for each student based on his/her requirements. I also guide students for Common Entrance Examinations and Interview Preparation. I help professionals develop Soft Skills: Effective Business Communication, Email etiquette, etc.

Sergio is one of my most prolific students. He approached me for a crash course on Functional Skills Level 2. He is already IELTS Band 8 and Michigan C2 qualified; however, he has always been attentive in the lessons and consistently shown the hunger to improve. He finished most of his assignments on time, even though he had to cope up with a 'deluge' in a short time. With the efforts he is putting in, I am sure he'll come out with flying colours and set new benchmarks in the exam!

Emi has good base in Grammar and has also brought down her rate of speech in English to match her fluency. She is also listening to English podcasts regularly which will increase her diction and help in effective articulation.
We'll work on Pronunciation/Accent neutrality, Elocution and Presentation coherence. In addition, we'll polish off few rough edges in Grammar.

The classes were super fun and we didn't even realize how much we have learned and improved till we took the final assessment test.
