About Marisol

My name is Marisol! I’m currently in my sophomore year of high school. Starting in middle school I was already taking honor classes and starting online high school courses. Since middle school I’ve been an honor roll/ and faculty honor student. I’ve been recognized on the news for my writing and I’ve even won checks for the writing I’ve done. My strongest subjects have always been science and English. I’ve been tutoring for 2 years now and with the students I have tutored they’ve passed most of their class tests and quizzes, and got average and high scores on state tests. As a high school student and athlete I understand times are tough to get through sometimes which is why I enjoy helping students succeed because I see their potential.

About the lesson

- Teaching Techniques: communicative language teaching (CLT), where students practice English in real-life situations, Total Physical Response (TPR) with physical actions to reinforce vocabulary, the Direct Method focusing on oral communication, differentiated instruction based on individual needs, gamification to make learning fun, and incorporating technology like videos and online platforms to enhance engagement. -Lesson plan: Student: [Student's Name] Level: [Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced] Focus Area: [Grammar topic, vocabulary set, or specific skill (e.g., conversation, writing)] Based on the information above you will have a custom lesson plan. -What sets me apart as a tutor: -I don't just deliver information, I truly connect with your students. I take the time to understand their individual learning styles, strengths, and weaknesses. This allows me to tailor students lessons to their specific needs, fostering a comfortable and supportive learning environment. -I’m able to recognize when a student is struggling with more than just the material, and I am able to offer encouragement and support. -My genuine love for the subject matter is contagious. I bring energy and excitement to your sessions, making learning engaging and enjoyable. -I am able to make difficult subjects interesting. Adaptability and Flexibility: -I understand that learning isn't a one-size-fits-all process. I’m quick to adjust to teaching methods and strategies based on students' progress and feedback. -I am able to change your lesson plans on the fly, if the student is not understanding the material. Lessons are for students from kindergarten to 9th grade
