In my lessons, I draw on real world examples and my substantial business world experience to get students excited about business and economy and immersed in any given topic. I am highly adept in accounting for pupils’ individual needs through differentiated tasks (having recently completed a reflective, action research study on differentiation strategies in high-performing students) and questioning to ensure all students can achieve.
Over the years of working as an educator, it has become apparent to me that motivation and maximising students’ attainment requires not only delivering high quality lessons but it is equally important to work with children as individuals, taking an interest in their progression and their personalities and plan lessons which are meaningful to them. As teachers, we should always strive to set high expectations for students with an aim to deepen their understanding of the subject and its application in the wider world around them.
