About Alex
I've recently graduated with a First-Class Engineering degree from the University of Bath, and achieved 9s and A*s in Physics & Maths GCSE & A-Levels (King Edward VI Grammar School). I've had a lot of good teachers myself, and I know what a good explanation does. Something goes from impossible to obvious and stays that way. That's what I'm aiming to achieve for my own students
I also still actively use the knowledge I learnt at A-Level and GCSE. Last year I worked in R&D at Bentley, testing cars on racetracks abroad. I'm currently working on a hydrogen fuel-cell drone for research, and I spent a summer studying engineering in China. If a student is thinking about a career in STEM, that's something extra I can help with alongside the grades.

I tutor Maths and Physics at GCSE and A-Level, online. The first hour is free and it's a proper lesson. We'll work out where you're at, what's missing, and what grade you're aiming for. No pressure to book anything after.
After that, lessons are mostly problem-solving. I'll work through things with you, then hand over and let you lead while I help where needed. Closer to exams we'll move onto past papers and mark scheme technique, which is a separate skill to knowing the content. I will teach to your exact exam board.
Parents: I'll send a short update after each lesson so you know what we covered and how it's going. My style is patient, clear and adaptable: if one explanation doesn't land, I'll find another angle rather than repeating myself louder.
