About Gilly
I have 18 years classroom teaching experience mainly in Secondary Education. Alongside teaching Design & Technology, Engineering, ICT, Public Services, I set up Outdoor Education within the Faculty of Arts & PE. I worked closely with the senior leadership team and outside agencies to acquire funding and provisions for Outdoor Education. I am passionate about teaching and learning and implementing new strategies. I am a dynamic, dedicated, enthusiastic, focused and individual. I have excellent time management skills. As a teacher and trainer, I have experience of using experiential and NLP principles and techniques, linking to the development of emotional intelligence. I am an adaptable person and can bring enthusiasm and commitment to my work.

I will liaise closely with my students to tailor lessons to the individual needs of the learner, working closely to create a bespoke learning environment to maximise the learner's potential. In any working environment I always work with a high attention to detail. From my experience in an Engineering background and teaching the subject, I understand the importance of accuracy and precision (from measuring to data input to report writing) and this is a skill that is embedded into my professionalism. Curriculum style lessons are suitable for 11-18 year olds who follow the National Curriculum and similar programmes. SEAG tutoring is suitable for 10-11 year olds who are wanting to sit the Schools’ Entrance Assessment Group (SEAG) which is open to all post-primary schools in Northern Ireland which use academic selection for all or part of their Year 8 intake.
