About Cailean

I’m a performer, filmmaker, and teacher who believes acting should feel like discovery, not homework. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—Emmy-nominated filmmaker, screenwriter, director, actor, improv coach, and stand-up comic—and I bring that full range of experience into my teaching. I founded and ran IMPROVshop, a youth improv company where I trained students ages 8–18 to think fast, trust their instincts, and perform with confidence. I’ve taught at Gotham City Improv in New York and worked as a private coach for young working actors, helping them nail auditions and shine on stage and screen. My classes are high-energy, supportive, and tailored to each student’s goals. Whether you’re diving into a dramatic monologue, tackling a comedy scene, or taking your first leap into improv or stand-up, I’ll help you find your voice and bring your own spark to the stage. I believe in mixing professional rigor with creative play—because great performances come when you feel both challenged and inspired. About the lesson

Looking for acting or improv training that is both professional and fun? My teaching style is supportive, creative, and highly personalized. I believe every student has a unique voice as a performer, and my goal is to help you discover it with confidence and joy.

I specialize in acting (scene study and monologues) as well as improvisation and stand-up comedy. I founded and ran IMPROVshop, a youth improv company and school where I trained students ages 8–18, and I’ve taught at Gotham City Improv in New York. As a private acting coach, I’ve guided young working actors through auditions and performances with a focus on authenticity and presence.

As an Emmy-nominated filmmaker, screenwriter, director, and performer, I bring real-world insight into every lesson. Students not only build skills in acting and comedy but also learn how to connect technique to storytelling, stagecraft, and the demands of the industry. My classes are interactive, encouraging risk-taking, laughter, and collaboration—because the best performances come when you feel safe to play and explore.
