About Emily
Hi - I'm Emily! I'm a professional Musician and have over 10 years' experience teaching musicians of all levels both in the UK and abroad. I regularly deliver masterclasses and teach Brass Instruments (excluding trombone) to any level and Clarinet / Music theory up to Grade 5 standard. I am a scholarship graduate of the Royal College of Music, achieving a Bachelor of Music Honours Degree in Trumpet Performance. I am fully qualified to teach and have an Enhanced DBS check (available to view upon your request). I also have a 100% Merit+ rate for ABRSM/Trinity grade exams (although students do not have to take exams with me, that's entirely their choice).

Hi - I'm Emily! I'm a professional Musician and have over 10 years' experience teaching musicians of all levels both in the UK and abroad. I regularly deliver masterclasses and teach Brass Instruments (excluding trombone) to any level and Clarinet / Music theory up to Grade 5 standard.
My method of teaching is completely different depending on the needs of each individual student. I encourage each student to let me know what they want to achieve both short term and long term (whether that be playing for fun, preparing for exams or achieving a scholarship to a specialist school) and then base my methods on that.
The length of lessons would depend on the student's age, ability and what they would like to achieve. I also use my lessons to teach my pupils music theory (embedded into playing the instrument, especially for younger pupils) and how to practise. That way, they are still able to make improvement during the week when I am not teaching them.
I write up notes at the end of each lesson to send to the student/parents so that they can keep track of progress and know what needs to be practised each week.
I am a scholarship graduate of the Royal College of Music, achieving a Bachelor of Music Honours Degree in Trumpet Performance. I look forward to hearing from you and being able to answer any questions you may have.
