About Danielle

I am 23 years old and teach as a substitute teacher at local Elementary schools. I have two cats and my hobbies include yoga, reading, and painting! At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I was completing my freshman year of college, however I was forced to come home to quarantine. During this time, my parents had several colleagues who were needing immediate help with their children going to school on zoom. I was given the opportunity to have my own classroom with several students and help them individually with their
classes. This was an amazing experience that only solidified my desire to work in education!

About the lesson

Greetings!
My passion for work has always derived from my love and appreciation
for children. My parents were both Elementary teachers, so growing up
I saw how much impact they had on the world and it was truly inspiring.
I began babysitting at the age of 13 and quickly realized I wanted to
become a teacher. I found this work extremely rewarding and learned
at a young age how working with a variety of age groups gives a unique
perspective on how children view and grow with the world. At age 17, I
applied to Chico State declaring my major in Liberal Studies as well
minoring in both Child Development and Psychology. Through my
studies, I learned an exponential amount of information centering
behaviors which expanded my general knowledge of teaching and
education.
