About Yaseen
Hello! I’m a dedicated elementary educator and 4th-grade teacher who believes every child can succeed in math and reading when learning feels clear, engaging, and confidence-building. My teaching philosophy is simple: learning is a game! You just have to know the rules In my online tutoring sessions, I use games, hands-on strategies, and pattern-based thinking to help students master essential skills—including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals. I break complex ideas into steps that make sense, helping students build real understanding instead of memorizing tricks. I help students build strong reading skills through clear strategies, engaging texts, and step-by-step support. From comprehension to vocabulary to synthesizing information, I teach kids how to think while they read—not just say the words. I bring experience in the IB framework, emphasizing student agency, fairness, and reflection. I value clear communication and structure, which shows up in the way I support families through consistent updates, organized learning plans, and thoughtful feedback. I believe learning should be fun, accessible, and empowering. I create many of my own materials—worksheets, anchor charts, assessments, and activities—to ensure lessons fit each student's needs. Whether we're practicing reading skills, strengthening math fluency, or exploring big ideas, I focus on making every child feel successful and proud of their progress. Your child will understand the why behind the math—while having fun doing it! I teach kids that math is really about counting and patterns. Whether it’s adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, or working with fractions and decimals, students learn to break down big concepts into steps they can see and understand.
