About Makenna
I decided to become an elementary educator because of the highs and lows I experienced growing up. I believe I am most successful when I have someone in my corner cheering me on and showing me patience when I need extra time or when I don’t understand something. That is the person I always strive to be for my students. There is no “perfect learner”, we all learn differently.

I believe every student should start with the very basics. Having the basics concrete can help us make sense of more complicated concepts. I look at tutoring from the students perspective on how they grasp content as a whole and scaffolding the material from there.
I am passionate about tutoring mathematics because it cannot be taught "one size fits all". Every student deserves patience, attention, and grace to achieve anything to the best of their ability.
Most of my tutoring experience is in middle to high school algebra as well as all elementary math (k-8).
