About Lindy

I am an EFL teacher who taught English in Oman for 7 years and worked in communications for 4 years in South Africa before that. I have taught so many different students over the years. Most of my students have been adults or college/university students. I have also taught children from as young as 6 years old. I have taught everything from level 1 to Advanced in General English. Business English, where I would go to companies and teach English specifically for their field or industry as well as many soft skills such as communications, business and report writing etc. I have also taught many IELTS preparation classes. Most classes have been in groups, but I have also taught quite a few private classes where students have asked for me specifically.

About the lesson

When looking at EFL it is important to note that each student will have their own strengths and weaknesses. Some will be good at reading, but bad at writing for example. So step one for me is to assess where you will need the most help. I would do this, by chatting with you, asking you to write something for me and reading something as well. Once I have established where you will need the most help, I will tailor my material to focus on that area a little more than the other areas. In EFL it is important for you to feel comfortable with your teacher so that if you make mistakes you don't feel shy about it. That is always my number one aim.
