About Makinlee
Hi! I’m Makinlee, an Educational Assistant with experience supporting elementary-aged students with a wide range of learning styles, strengths, and needs. I have experience working one-on-one with students in reading, writing, math, French, and overall academic skill development.
Working as an Educational Assistant has given me experience supporting students who may need extra patience, encouragement, structure, or individualized instruction. I understand that learning can sometimes feel frustrating, so I focus on creating a positive and welcoming environment where students feel comfortable and confident.
I am patient, reliable, encouraging, and passionate about helping children succeed. I love seeing students build their confidence and reach those exciting moments when something they have been struggling with finally clicks!

I believe every student learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to their individual needs, strengths, interests, and learning style. I provide tutoring in reading, writing, math, and French for elementary-aged students.
My lessons are engaging, supportive, and structured to help students build both their skills and confidence. A typical session may include a short review, direct instruction, guided practice, educational games or activities, and independent practice.
As an Educational Assistant, I have experience supporting students with a variety of learning needs and abilities. I use strategies such as visual supports, step-by-step instruction, positive reinforcement, movement breaks, and hands-on activities to make learning easier and more enjoyable.
For reading and phonics, I can also incorporate structured literacy strategies and UFLI-based activities when appropriate. My goal is to create a patient, encouraging environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and celebrating their progress.
