About Izzy

Currently studying Law at University of Nottingham, and achieved three A Stars at A Level studying politics, business and geography. I am a dedicated and motivated tutor with a genuine passion for helping students succeed. Having experienced the difficulties of underperforming in Year 12, I know first-hand how frustrating it can feel to put in effort without seeing results. Discovering the right exam techniques and strategies transformed my own performance, enabling me to achieve A*A* in Politics and Business. I now want to share these insights with others, so that students can avoid the mistakes I made and instead approach their studies with clarity, confidence, and a clear path to achieving the top grades.

About the lesson

I Completed Business A-Level in 2025 following the Edexcel exam board. In the exam I achieved an A* as well as the highest marks in the year. I did not achieve these marks due to having a natural talent for the topic, instead I analysed exam scripts which had achieved top scripts to establish what examiners are actually looking for in the exam. This showed me how content was only a small fraction of what was required for a high mark, instead by perfecting the exact essay structure and following it in every question you are meeting exactly what examiners are looking for. Therefore, in a tutoring session I think it most beneficial for the student if we begin understanding the topic and brainstorming possible answers, before applying this into an exam structure in order to prepare them the best for the A-level exam.
