About David Mauricio

I am a data-driven economist who genuinely enjoys finding creative solutions to real-life problems. For me, curiosity and problem-solving have always been part of who I am. It started when I was a child playing video games on my PlayStation 1, where I loved understanding how things worked and constantly trying to improve my strategies. Later, this mindset became even stronger through my experience playing competitive soccer in Colombia.

Soccer taught me discipline, resilience, teamwork, and the importance of constantly pushing yourself to improve. It gave me a strong competitive spirit—not against others, but against myself. Since then, I’ve tried to approach every challenge with the same mentality: always learn, always improve, and always give my best effort.

Today, I bring that same energy into economics, research, and data analysis. I enjoy building ideas, exploring patterns in data, and creating solutions that can have a meaningful impact on people’s lives.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is based on a deep understanding of the fundamental concepts behind each topic. I focus on building strong foundations first and then progressively developing more advanced ideas in a way that is intuitive, clear, and easy to retain in long-term memory.

I am very approachable and patient, and I personally experienced many challenges when first learning microeconomic theory. Because of that, I strongly empathize with students and understand how difficult some concepts can initially seem. I am always open to answering questions and explaining ideas in the clearest and simplest way possible.

I hope to have the opportunity to meet you, help you strengthen your understanding of economics, and explore together any topics you would like to learn more about.
