About Idrees

I’m currently studying Economics at university, where I’ve developed a strong understanding of key economic theories and how they apply to real-world situations. Through my studies, I’ve built the ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and structured way, helping students understand not just the content, but how to apply it effectively in exams.

Alongside my academic work, I’m also dedicated to boxing, which has helped me develop discipline, focus, and a strong work ethic. These qualities carry over into my tutoring, where I encourage students to stay consistent, think critically, and push themselves to improve.

As a current university student, I’m familiar with the challenges of studying economics at GCSE and A-Level, and I aim to create a supportive and approachable environment where students feel confident asking questions and developing their understanding.

About the lesson

I’m currently studying Economics at university, where I’ve developed a strong and in-depth understanding of both microeconomics and macroeconomics. Through my studies, I’ve gained the ability to break down complex economic theories—such as market structures, elasticity, inflation, and economic policy—into clear, structured explanations that are easier to understand and apply.

My approach to tutoring economics is focused on true understanding rather than memorisation. I help students grasp key concepts, diagrams, and chains of reasoning, so they can confidently explain answers and perform well in exams. I also place a strong emphasis on exam technique, including how to structure essays, analyse data, and develop high-mark evaluation points.

Lessons are fully tailored to each student. I take time to identify areas of difficulty, whether that’s understanding core content, applying theory to questions, or improving written responses. From there, I adapt sessions to focus on exactly what the student needs—whether it’s revisiting fundamentals, practising exam questions, or refining exam technique.

As a current university student, I understand the demands of GCSE and A-Level economics and aim to create a supportive and approachable environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. My goal is to help students not only improve their grades, but also develop a deeper understanding of how economics works in the real world.
