About Max
I am a 22 year old graduate that has come away with a 2:1 in Economics and Philosophy from the University of Southampton currently waiting to start my job as an accountant in Central London. among my studies I also got heavily involved in the universities rowing team as well as being an avid road cyclist. Due to Covid-19 my job has been delayed until december so I thought what better way to fill my time waiting than to help other people that were like me try to achieve what I did!
During my time at school I was tutored and found that it gave me much needed confidence to achieve all that I did in my exams and now eellike I can give back the same thing to others, now where its needed more than ever.
I have never tutored before but have taken up teacher roles in the past. The most notable of these being an instructor of my cadet force teaching year 9 pupils the basics of being a cadet which I found very rewarding, many of my students going on to achieve top ranks and awards as they progressed.I take great pride in alloy students achievements and hope I can transfer that over to tutoring. Being involved in team sport and being placed in major leadership roles such as numerous committee positions at my rowing clubs hopefully will show you I can be trustworthy in communicating information effectively and working with others. (You can find the rest of my experience on my CV)

The way I would like to approach my teaching of the subject would be to first look over any past papers the student has completed. I would then break down what areas the student struggles with and focus on these questions first. Repetition is the key to success especially Maths A-level. I will also like to work through past papers with the student and walk through the process of each type of question asked and gradually take away layers of help to the point where the student will be flying through maths and economics papers with ease!
For Economics in particular I will also go through essay templates and how to get those sneaky last few marks that are often missed but easy to pick up.Economics paper time limits are a squeeze at the best of times so efficiency of communication is key so this would be a big focus.
