About Jay

When I first started A-Levels, I struggled a lot—especially with Economics. Complex topics felt overwhelming, and I had no idea how to revise properly. Getting a tutor was the turning point: I went from being confused to developing a deep understanding and ultimately achieving an A* in Economics and an A in Business. Because I know exactly what it feels like to be stuck, I can relate to students who are struggling. I’ve built revision methods that genuinely work, and I want to share them to help others avoid the mistakes I made. I’m passionate about Economics and Business, and I enjoy breaking topics down in a way that makes sense. My goal is simple: to help A - level and GCSE students boost their confidence, sharpen their revision, and get the grades they’re aiming for.

Hi, I’m Jay, I sat the AQA A level Economics and Business exams myself (2025) and achieved: • A* in Economics • A in Business Studies I know exactly how AQA marks essays, how they reward analysis, and the common traps that waste marks. My lessons cut straight to what examiners want — not endless waffle, but exam-ready skills. What I Offer • Targeted AQA prep: Past-paper drills, data response questions, essay planning, and evaluation strategies. • Exam technique coaching: How to structure 25-markers, hit AO3/AO4 marks, and manage timing. • Clear explanations: I simplify tough topics (elasticities, market failure, investment appraisal) into step-by-step reasoning. • Personalised support: Every student is different — I adapt to your strengths and weaknesses. Why Me? • I’ve been through the AQA system recently, so my knowledge is fresh and relevant. • I relate to students — I know what it feels like to start confused and build up to confidence. • I give structured, engaging sessions with a recap and next steps so progress is measurable.
