About Gian Lorenzo

I have a long-standing experience teaching Econometrics as a tutor: I have helped undergraduates in economics and political science, as well as Master students struggling with the new subject after changing field. I also helped many students work on their dissertation and data analysis part of their thesis, or to read and understand papers with a lot of statistics. I hold a BSc and MSc in Economics, which is where I learned the subject and I have previously taught at Bristol and Warwick universities where I have gotten my PhD.

About the lesson

Econometrics is an advanced subject with many subtleties and bringing together all that a student has learned in calculus and statistics and then some. I teach it step by step with a mix of theory and examples, usually from the student's own material or adding my own, covering any previous gaps in statistics as needed. Some examples of what I cover: - Ordinary Least Square - STATA/R support - Hypothesis testing - Confidence interval - Maximum Likelihood - Logit/probit/tobit - General Method of Moments - Interpreting data - Diff in Diff and Regression discontinuity - Counterfactual approach as well as helping with dissertation component or any data analysis need!
