About Sara

What would you like to know about me? I grew up in Dublin and I was raised to be excited about traveling and language learning. I studied Spanish and Anthropology at Maynooth University and during a study exchange year (Erasmus) in Tenerife, I taught private English classes to employees at the Museum and business owners and loved it. I returned to Dublin and decided to do an MA in Linguistics and Language Teaching and Learning to understand all the parts of language learning. My Master's thesis was on Irish English. After my MA, I moved to Madrid to teach in a Primary School and the following year joined a language consultancy agency and became a business English trainer. In 2015, I moved to Switzerland and I began my Doctoral studies in World English and English Language Variation where I published research on different dialects of English. Afterwards, I moved to Hawaii for three years and although, I continued to teach at university level, I missed the joy of working with people one-on-one. In 2025, I decided to come home back to my family in Dublin and do what I love - teaching and coaching to improve people's communication skills and empowering individuals to feel confident in their day-to-day life.

About the lesson

My client history includes: – English language instruction in primary schools in Madrid (A1 to B2) – Cambridge exam preparation for teenagers and adults (FCE, CAE, and CPE) – Business English for top executives of large enterprises and sitting ministers in the Spanish government – English language and linguistics for university students at the University of Bern and the University of Lausanne For my doctoral thesis, I worked on the sounds and grammar of non-native English speakers. If understanding strong accents and being understood by locals is one of your goals, I have plenty of tips and tricks to help you get there. I offer bespoke classes in: – Conversation & fluency – Academic & business writing – CVs, emails, interviews I look forward to hearing about your goals and helping you become the confident, multilingual communicator you envision. Classes available online or in person in Dublin.
