About Harry

With 17 years' of drumming experience and a Master’s in Music Theory, I bring a deep understanding of rhythm to every lesson. I’ve performed in orchestras, jazz groups, and modern bands. My approach blends technical training with musical creativity. I help students understand rhythm from both a practical and theoretical perspective. Lessons focus on precision, control, and musical feel. I tailor each session to your goals and preferred learning style. You’ll build strong foundations through guided exercises and structured practice plans. My students often see steady improvement with consistent work. I value patience and clarity in my teaching.

About the lesson

My drum lessons are focused on helping students develop technical skill, musical expression, and a personal sense of style. Lessons are customised for each student, whether they are just starting, improving their technique, or preparing for auditions and performances. We cover key fundamentals such as timing, stick control, hand independence, groove, coordination, rhythm reading, and dynamic control, while also incorporating creative exercises and improvisation. I integrate song learning, play-alongs, and ensemble work to provide a practical, enjoyable, and well-rounded learning experience. Students receive guidance on effective practice routines, self-assessment, and milestone tracking to ensure steady progress.

My teaching environment is encouraging, supportive, and positive, allowing students to take risks, explore rhythms, and experiment with their own style. Lessons emphasise listening skills, musical analysis, and the ability to communicate musically with other performers. I encourage creativity while maintaining strong technical foundations, ensuring students become versatile, expressive drummers.
