About Saliyha
I am a 26 year old Economics Graduate who is currently working in a finance role, with a passion for the subject. I have privately tutored 3 A-Level students in the past, 2 of whom achieved A grades (predicted B & C), and 1 who achieved a B grade (predicted a D but suffered from learning difficulties).
I am looking for motivated students who show a willingness to learn as I provide a tailored approach to learning, and equip students with both the knowledge of content and ability to structure answers. I will also work outside of lesson hours to prepare essay questions and answers, posters and online tools to further develop what we learn in lessons, and to also act as an aide to revision materials. I thoroughly enjoyed learning the subject and look forward to making students feel the same way.
I am currently based in Leicester, and although I do offer online tuition via FaceTime / Skype - I find in-person tutoring to be much more effective. I am happy for students to come to me, for me to come to students, or to meet somewhere else, such as a library.

The lessons I plan will be be based on the topics students are currently learning in school to keep them up to date, as well as areas they struggle in that will require more 1-1 attention. At the end of each lesson, I provide an exam question for the student to structure 1 opening paragraph to, and to bring back to me before the next lesson as a finished essay (essays should take no longer than 15 minutes to complete after lesson as tools to completing them are provided). This will also develop the students ability to structure answers, an area many A-Level students struggle with which makes the difference between the top and mid range grades. I like to make the lesson enjoyable and not keep it too formal, but will also work around the learning techniques that best individually suit the student. I will also provide online & in-person resources for students to have a look at after lessons that can act as revision guides. As long as you also put in the work, I am certain I will be able to help you gain the top grades.

Details
I charge £15 an hour as I work outside our lessons to provide students with exam questions, essays, online tools and posters which will further develop the topics we learn in the lesson. I will also provide essay questions & answers to teach students how to structure answers correctly which is where a lot of students tend to lose marks.
