About Jenny

I have an extensive background in teaching and truly enjoy working to help you understand and learn. I have been teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs including Nursing, Sciences, English Comp, Psychology, unique cover letter writing for jobs, entrance applications and essays for undergraduate and graduate school, petitioning for grade adjustment letters while currently in that class that you petition, teach approachability techniques in order to get the most desirable and constructive outcome, and so much more! Versatile when it comes to being of assistance in different areas of medicine, academics, mentoring, and everyday life!
14 years in the field, Lots more on this earth, and have many tips, sound/real world advice, and ways to make it through any situation whether it be school, work, or life!

About the lesson

My preferred approaches is to help students build a strong understanding of the content by using these basic tutoring approaches:
-Guide students (with questions) to discover possible solutions for themselves
-Break more complicated problems into manageable ones
-Ask questions to help students solidify their understanding
-Explain problems and concepts to figure out how to guide and discover on your own
-Explain back to me to help integrate a better understanding, while identifying remaining areas of confusion
-Use technology to tutor more efficiently

In addition I sometimes:
-Teach easier/less complex methods than are taught in class
-Help students to focus on just what they need to do well in the course.
-Help students deal with test/performance anxiety that are interfering with learning
*Overall, from the feedback I have received from my students (some of whom have first tried other tutors), I believe I am quite an effective tutor.
