About DEEPAK

I am Deepak, a Ph.D. scholar at the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia and teaching is my passion since ever before I graduated with a degree in computer science. I have an in-depth knowledge of teaching programming languages such as C, C++, Python, PHP, and other computer science-related subjects such as Data Structures, and, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, Operating Systems at an Indian University for the last 6 years. I am very much confident that I can teach in a way, a student likes and understands each and every concept in an easy way. The only thing I hope and expect from my student is to learn things with honesty and ask questions whenever in doubt so that we can gain the benefit of teaching with great effort and teamwork.

Not only have I taught programming at a University but I have a YouTube channel named TheEasyConcepts where I keep uploading programming-related stuff whenever time permits for the benefit of computer science enthusiasts. So, you can also have a look at my channel to see the way I teach. I have a unique style of teaching where I am able to change my teaching pace on the basis of individual students' understanding levels. I also try to be as friendly as possible so that I can understand the thought process of students in-depth and teach them like a friend with whom students never feel hesitant to ask a query. So, let's connect with me if you think I may be helpful in your learning path and help you to learn programming and computer-related core concepts in an easier way. If you wish to learn any of the following subjects, do connect with me - 1. Python Programming 2. C Programming 3. C++ Programming 4. Web Technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP) - Learn to create a CRUD application 5. Git and GitHub/GitLab - A version Control System 6. Operating Systems 7. Computer Networks 8. Database Management System 9. Data Structures and Algorithms 10. Working With Social Media Data (Twitter) - This is something where you can learn the way you can fetch Twitter data and do some analysis over it. If you are just a beginner in this, it could be a fun project for you that will teach you something different from your regular subjects. • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

First time I used Computer was when I was in 9th standard and the computer was something very new for us. At that time I used to live in a boarding school in India which was very far from my home. As far as I remember, It was the year 2004 when I was studying in the 9th standard and that was the first time when computer as a subject was introduced in our school. But unfortunately, due to some geographical constraints and the rising demand for computers and computer teachers, our teacher left the school and it took around 2 years to find a replacement. At that time my younger brother was living in a metropolitan city and was having access to a computer which I was very fascinated with and wanted to learn and work with it whenever I gets a chance. Later, I got the chance of working with computers during my bachelor and since then I am using computers regularly.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

My research area is social media mining where Natural Language Processing plays an important role and recently ChatGPT has been a remarkable technological advancement in the field. The way ChatGPT understands questions and responds to them is going to be a turning point in the near future.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it, and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

I have done my bachelor's and Master's in Computer Science and now I am doing a Ph.D. in data science. My research interest is to work with social media data and bring out insights from this enormous amount of data. In terms of programming, C was my first language but Python and Java Script are my favorites in terms of coding speed and functionalities these languages provide. Talking about operating systems, I prefer Mac and Linux due to their command-line facility which makes working easier, more efficient, and faster.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

Yes, of course. These visionaries inspire me as they have been trendsetters in their fields and have been responsible for bringing a revolution in the field of computing and connectivity. There are many people who have done revolutionary work but if I name one, Dennis Ritchie is someone whom I admire most because of his creation of C programming and the UNIX operating system. C programming and UNIX are responsible for many pivotal developments in the field of Computer Science and it's more than 50 years after their beginnings and UNIX or UNIX-like systems are continuously running over from smartphones to supercomputers.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I will ask him not to be afraid and learn to talk to computers just like you talk to human beings. It's even better because computers talk only logic and if you feel anything too hard, just break it into modules and make it simpler.
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

I make two kinds of YouTube videos that are related to computers and Australia. The first channel, The Easy Concepts is about computers and computer science where I talk to my students or audiences regarding computer science concepts and try to deliver the content in the easiest possible way. Secondly, I have another channel named, All About Australia where I talk about Australian culture and lifestyle or the way anyone who is new in Australia can get some help. On my second channel, I mostly talk in Hindi which is my mother tongue and through that, I connect more with Indian students. I am happy that I am able to contribute in some way to help the students.
