About Avery
Confidence is the primary result most students reach by the end of our time together. Honestly, even the most advanced learners feel nervous when they start a new speaking module. I draw on my 8 years of experience to make business English and exam prep feel manageable.
We focus on practical skills like writing, reading comprehension, and everyday conversation. My lessons are designed for working professionals who need results without the fluff. I always feel proud when a student walks into a meeting and finally speaks up without a second thought.

My degree from York University sits on my wall, but the real teaching happens when I hear the coffee shop chatter of a new immigrant trying to find their footing in Canada. The scent of black coffee and old textbooks is usually present when I sit down with business professionals preparing for a big presentation. I have worked with 191 students ranging from working professionals to adult learners seeking better writing skills. My teaching style is informed by 8 years of experience helping people bridge the gap between their native language and the nuances of English.
I often spend my afternoons helping newcomer families build the fluency they need for everyday Canadian life. My work is built on the belief that clear communication is a tool for empowerment in a professional environment.
I take pride in helping students find their own voice while we tackle tricky phrasal verbs or accent softening.
