About Anderson
Mathematics in a simple way, supported by intuition as a means of motivating concepts and definitions, without losing the rigor that is inherent to the area.
A relaxed methodology enriched with simple but enlightening examples makes all the difference in content absorption!

When explaining a mathematical concept, I try to look for simple examples that motivate that concept, appealing to intuition and avoiding excessive formalities. Studying mathematics without understanding the ideas is sinking into a sea of meaningless symbols and notations!
The "value of x" in an equation can be frightening and rightly so: "x" is a letter and therefore represents a phoneme in writing. How can x rays have a "numerical value"? x=27. What madness! The nightmare ends when it is understood that x is simply a symbol to represent an "unknown value". We could use y, z, *, or @... When you understand the idea of an equation, the symbol itself doesn't matter.
This applies from the simple case of equations to more sophisticated concepts such as the definition of continuity: "For every epsilon (...) there is a delta (...)", the terror of many Calculus students.
Thinking about it (like every Geometer), I make use of many figures and drawings to explain the concepts.
My posture during class is that of someone trying to explain to a classmate while studying together, rather than a "hierarchical relationship" teacher-student.
