About Samuel
I am currently working as a data scientist having completed my PhD in statistics at the University of Durham, where I also obtained my Masters in Mathematical Sciences. I have had various tutoring roles during my degree, which include:
- Tutoring statistics to two students in their first year of their Psychology degree (where they
both got firsts in the statistics module).
- Co-leading tutorials for undergraduate students as a postgraduate student at Durham
University.
- Tutoring GCSE Maths to a student about to enter year 9.
- Being a statistical adviser to a student completing the statistical section of her masters
dissertation.

I am willing to teach at any level from primary school to degree-level maths and statistics. My preferred method of teaching is that the student already has in their mind the topics they would like to cover (and lets me know before the session), this will generally be topics that they're struggling the most with which I can help them understand better. This just gets rid of unhelpful sessions which just go over the students strong areas and doesn't improve their understanding in any way.
