About Ian
I am a passionate Drum tutor with more than 8 years of experience teaching college-level students. I help students develop strong rhythm skills while building confidence and creativity behind the drum kit. My teaching style is clear, patient, and goal-oriented. I tailor lessons based on each student’s strengths and challenges.
I guide students as a mentor, helping them think critically about rhythm and groove. I use innovative methods such as groove development exercises, structured warm-ups, and song-based practice. I also focus on tempo control and coordination to build strong foundations. Accountability is a core part of my lessons.
I provide personalized practice plans, track progress, and give constructive feedback. Along with drum techniques, I support students with rhythm theory, basic music notation, and performance skills. My goal is to help students become confident, disciplined, and independent drummers.
