About Roxanne

My name is Roxana. I have 8 years of teaching experience and I am currently studying Medicine and Surgery in English at the University of Catania, Italy.

I specialize in working with International Baccalaureate students, particularly in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics AI. My medical studies also allow me to connect Biology and Chemistry with areas such as biochemistry, physiology and medicine, helping students understand difficult concepts rather than simply memorizing them.

I am highly involved in each student’s progress and have a very solution-focused approach to teaching. I don’t allow “I don’t know”, “I can’t do it” or “I’m just bad at this” to become conclusions. If something isn’t working, we identify exactly where the difficulty is, approach it differently and practice until the student can solve it independently.

Alongside IB tutoring, I support students with IA / Scientific Investigations, TOK, IMAT preparation and international university admissions, particularly for Medicine and Dentistry.

I am fluent in English, Polish, German and Italian, and work comfortably with students from international backgrounds.

About the lesson

I provide comprehensive preparation for the International Baccalaureate (IB Diploma Programme), both for students who need ongoing support throughout the programme and those preparing intensively for their final examinations.

I specialise primarily in IB Biology SL/HL, Chemistry SL/HL and Mathematics AI SL, and also support students with English B, TOK and IA / Scientific Investigations.

From the very first lesson, I introduce authentic IB Past Paper questions. I strongly believe that learning the theory alone is not enough. Students need to understand how to apply their knowledge in an IB examination and exactly what examiners are looking for when awarding marks.

I have an extensive collection of IB Past Papers from multiple years, official mark schemes, examiner reports and guidance, question banks, IB textbooks, current-syllabus resources, as well as my own structured presentations and revision materials. We analyse command terms, mark schemes, common mistakes and examination strategies in detail.

Every student receives an individual study plan based on their current level, target grade, strengths and weaknesses, school progress and the time remaining until their examinations.

I use cumulative revision throughout the course. We continuously revisit previous topics while introducing new ones, gradually progressing from individual examination questions to larger mixed-topic tests and finally full timed IB papers under exam-style conditions.

In the 2026 IB examination session, students I supported achieved Grades 6–7, including a 7 in Biology HL, 7 in Chemistry HL and 6 in Mathematics AI SL. I have also worked with students who began at approximately Grade 3 level and progressed to Grades 6–7.

My goal is not simply to “cover the syllabus”. I want every student to develop the knowledge, examination technique and confidence required to achieve their highest possible IB grade.
