About Matthew

I began my interest in Japanese in high school, through university and then lived and worked for over 10 years in Japan.
From a beginning of only knowing thank you (ありがとうございます) and excuse me (すみません）to working for 10+ years in sales for a Japanse manufacturer where all internal correspondence and meetings were in Japanese, my journey with the language has been long and incredibly rewarding.
I hope that my understanding of what it is like to be a beginner in the language and how it's possible to reach advanced proficiency can be of value to you, and help you achieve your goals.
Still a big fan of Japan!

About the lesson

Every level requires a different approach and I believe in making learning fun while building required fundamentals like grammer, vocabulary reading & writing.
With 4+ years teaching languages to students of all ages (age 4 to 84), I look forward to helping learners achieve your language goal (travel, school tests, hobby, business).
Having lived in Japan for many years and worked in a Japanese manufacturing company as the only non-Japanese person, I can advise on cultural differences and if required business Japanse also.

Perfect! Matthew's first language is English. It's cool and convenient that your Japanese teacher could explain all including grammar clearly by using your language (if you understand English).
