About George
I bring enthusiasm, meticulous planning and an expansive body of knowledge to my teaching.
I graduated from Oxford in 2015 with a first in English Language and Literature. In 2016, I achieved a distinction in my Master's degree, also from Oxford, in English (1900-present day), with a particular focus on the little-known Modernist Mary Butts.
Having been educated at a state school in my hometown, at an independent 6th form and at Oxford, I have a diversity of personal experiences upon which to draw, and thoroughly enjoy engaging with students from a range of backgrounds, with a range of academic abilities - from those in need of a little extra support, to those striving for the top grades.
I live in Lyon, France, where I teach English - so at present I'm primarily interested in tutoring online.

George was able to explain in an interactive way the meaning of the texts I am studying for English Literature A-Level. There was active discussion about both of my texts each lesson, allowing me to see them from new perspectives. After each lesson there was homework to consolidate the material that we covered, which was especially good. As well, George was able to share important additional resources covering context and analysis, which I thought was challenging and interesting at the same time.
