About Warren

I love teaching and enjoy it most when I am working in small groups or 1:1, getting to know and understand children's personalities whilst supporting them in their learning journey. I enjoy making a difference a difference in children's live by teaching.

During my teaching career, I have developed a clear understanding of outstanding primary practice through focusing on and evidencing the teachers’ standards. I have strong experience of the national curriculum and have proven experience of children making accelerated progress, particularly in my three years of teaching Year 6 where I have helped children to achieve their SATs as well as 11+.

I am committed to ensuring that every child has an opportunity to succeed. To do this, I identify the needs of learners and plan tailored sessions with bespoke materials for each session. I will ensure that all progress is accurately logged and ready to report regularly.

About the lesson

I typically spend the first few minutes reviewing the previous week's work and then I will explain the objective of the session and teach new skills. I then provide opportunities for the student to practise the skills taught; I will address any misconceptions. Students then usually work independently on a short task before I add an extra skill to focus on, if needed. At the end of the session I will provide a short task that will implement all of the skills taught and provide a task to complete independently throughout the week to consolidate learning. I will review how the student got on at the start of the next session.

Lessons are either 30 or 60 minutes - let me know your requirements when booking your sessions.

Lessons are for KS2/SATs/11+ Maths, English and Reading.
Lessons are for KS3/KS4/GCSE English Language and English Literature.
