About Gabriella

With a master’s degree in aerospace engineering and hands-on experience as an aircraft test engineer, I am committed to sparking enthusiasm in young people for science and maths. I also tutor part-time at Oxford Learning Centre. I have a unique blend of technical expertise and a passion for teaching that allows me to create engaging, impactful lessons. My approach focuses on making challenging topics approachable and showing students the real-world applications of what they’re learning. I believe that with the right guidance and encouragement, every student has the potential to excel, and it’s my mission to help them unlock that potential.

About the lesson

My approach as a tutor centers around making math and science accessible and enjoyable for students by focusing on clarity, patience, and engagement. I believe in tailoring my teaching methods to each student’s learning style, which involves breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps. I incorporate a variety of resources, such as visual aids, interactive exercises, and practical examples, to make the material more relatable. Additionally, I emphasize active learning techniques—encouraging students to ask questions, solve problems step-by-step, and connect new concepts with prior knowledge.

A typical lesson begins with a quick review of previous material to reinforce retention and understanding. I then introduce the day's topic, explain the concept clearly, and work through a few examples together, gradually increasing in difficulty. Once the student is comfortable, I encourage them to try solving similar problems on their own, with me offering guidance as needed. Finally, we end with a brief recap and a quick assignment to practice what they’ve learned, helping them build confidence and self-sufficiency in the subject.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my dedication to each student’s unique needs and my ability to demystify math by relating it to real-life scenarios. I am not only focused on helping students improve their grades but also on helping them build a lasting understanding and confidence in their abilities. My students often appreciate my patient, approachable style and my commitment to ensuring they truly grasp each topic.
